The above roof storage area did take the best part of a whole day to organise.
But, having put in the time, the sleeping bag, the overnight bag, the dress-up clothes can all be found BUT, more importantly, it can be found and replaced without disturbing anythng else.
The plastic containers have now been sorted into: ski gear, dress-up clothes, dress-up accessories, children's books to keep. Smaller plastic containers are now memory boxes for each child (where they keep their baby shoes, favourite bits and pieces they want to keep...)
What was removed? Old computers & keyboards, old toys that no-one wanted, dress-up clothes that didn't fit anyone, 10 spare cushion inserts, a single timber slat bed...
You have to be RUTHLESS when going through your storage areas in order to create order.
Hint: Underbed storage plastic containers with lids are great. By storing things in smaller containers, you can categorise better what's inside.
