write yourself a reminder!

Use the 'Attention Box' at the top of each day. Change the way you deal with the paper trail that comes into your kitchen.

Stop sticking things to the fridge or worse still, putting bills in a drawer and waiting for the second notice to come along to jog your memory.

When you receive a note or newsletter, write important things into my.organiser and then file it in the appropriate pocket, or better still, put it in the recycle bin.

Once you've written in the date, go back 3-4 days and write yourself a reminder.
That's all it takes!

what's important?

BIRTHDAYS  -  Write in birthdays, go back a few days and write a reminder to either buy a card and post, buy a present, or organise the girls for lunch!

H I N T . . . If you buy a birthday card months in advance because you've actually found one that's funny, simply put it in a 'cheap' plastic sleeve and file it in the tabbed section BIRTHDAYS.

COUNCIL PICK-UPS  -  Write in your free Council pick-ups for excess garbage and garden waste. Write in a reminder, the Friday before so you can 'politely remind' your husband/partner that he should spend the weekend cleaning up.

SCHOOL - The volume of paper from school is huge - and with 2 or 3 children, it's neverending!
Newsletters, class lists, excursion notes, class photo day, special assemblies (i.e. the day your child is receiving an award)...

CLASS LISTS ~ file in the tabbed section SCHOOL & SPORT
EXCURSION NOTES ~ file in the 'DUE THIS WEEK' pocket in the relevant week.

Come excursion day, you'll have all the answers to...do they wear school uniform, what time to get to school, do they take lunch etc.

AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES  -  sport, dance, music...  Write in the important information from sports draws, canteen rosters, presentation day, team photo day, performance nights, concerts... then if you still need this paper file in the tabbed section SCHOOL & SPORT

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS  -  Use the 'state school term dates page' and a highlighter pen and mark in your school holidays for the year.

WHAT'S FOR DINNER?  Spend 10 minutes at the start of each week to work out the answers to this life-time question.  Write it in your WHAT'S FOR DINNER box and then forget about it. (except for the buying ingredients and cooking it part)
